Ann L. Silk, age 76, of Johnsburg, died Sunday, September 7, 2014, at her home.
Born August 13, 1938 in Chicago to Joseph and Victoria (Donati) Krawiec, she married Frank Silk Sr. on June 15, 1957 in Chicago.
Formerly of Prospect Heights, Ann moved to Johnsburg in June of 1997. Prior to retirement, she was a valued associate of Arlington Industries of Libertyville and also Drieske Florist of Wheeling.
Ann was a great cook, a doting grandmother, an avid shopper and fashion expert. Cruises with her husband, Frank, were a favorite activity of Ann’s, and she especially enjoyed the Alaska cruises. She also loved to entertain and had a big heart, always willing to help her fellow neighbors and friends. Ann’s circle of friends included several ladies calling themselves “the golden girls”.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Frank; four children, Dawn Silk of Panama City, FL; Joyce (Peter) Becker of Johnsburg, Frank Jr. (Lisa) Silk of Johnsburg, and Vicki (Robert) Silk-VanOrmer of Glenview; nine grandchildren, Nicole and Joseph Steinman, Joseph and Meghan Becker, Frankie and Ava Silk, Lucas, Matthew, and Sydney VanOrmer; a great grandchild, Baby Paul; and her life-long friend, Lorraine Guerino.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050. The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2014, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2302 W. Church Street, Johnsburg, IL 60051.
Inurnment will be at a later date in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Johnsburg.
