Anna Ticali, age 87, of Woodstock, died Friday, May 4, 2012, at Valley Hi Nursing Home in Woodstock.
She was born January 16, 1925 in Chicago to Jack and Frances (Placenza) Mucia. On December 1, 1951, she married Leonard Ticali at St. Maria Addolorata Catholic Church in Chicago.
A resident of Woodstock for the past 13 years, she formerly lived in Chicago. Prior to retiring, she had been employed at Horders Office Supply, then as a sales associate for Sears, and later as secretary in the printing industry.
A devout Catholic, Anna was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Woodstock. She was a former member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Chicago, where she also participated in the Altar and Rosary Society.
Enjoyments included crocheting and sewing. She loved being the family historian, and will be remembered for her wonderful storytelling ability.
Survivors include two children, Jeanie (Joe) Tenhoopen of Woodstock, and Tony (Kim) Ticali of Cocoa, Florida; three grandchildren, Lori (Devin) Mesnard, Carrie (Kyle) Gaines, and Michael Ticali.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Leonard, on March 2, 1999.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Avenue, Woodstock, with family receiving friends at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove.
