Anne Allison, age 99, died Saturday, January 28, 2006, at her home. She was born September 28, 1906 in London, England, and lived in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada until moving to Chicago upon her marriage to John Arthur Allison.
Living in Chicago while raising her family, she moved back to Canada in 1969. For the past seven years, she made her home with her daughter and son-in-law. For the past five years, they have lived in Richmond.
She was a homemaker for the majority of her life. Hobbies included playing cards and she enjoyed taking occasional trips to casinos. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Jan) Smid of Richmond; two grandsons, John (Michelle) Smid of Lake Geneva and Michael (Amy) Smid of Aurora; two great granddaughters, Mackenzie and Madison Smid of Lake Geneva; and two great grandsons, Matthew Smid of Lake Geneva and Jacob Smid of Aurora
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; and a son, William Tom Allison.
The visitation will be on Wednesday, February 1, 2006, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry, IL.
The memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Roger Schneider officiating.
Inurnment will be in Irving Park Cemetery in Chicago.
