Annette J. Hooper, age 69, of Johnsburg, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018, at Centegra Hospital – McHenry, with family by her side. She was born Sept. 2, 1948 in Chicago to Samuel L. and Ruth H. (Siksnenas) Sachs. On November 7, 1970 in Chicago, she married the love of her life, William G. Hooper.
Formerly of Chicago, Annette was a resident of Johnsburg for the past 40 years. Above all, throughout her lifetime she treasured her family and cherished every opportunity she could spend with them. She loved playing games with her adoring grandchildren and showered them with toys and coloring books purchased on her regular outings with her sister, which featured stops at the dollar store and dining at IHOP. Traveling on vacations, especially cruises, was a favorite memory. For special occasions, Annette enjoyed color coordinating her husband’s shirts and ties with her ensemble, complete with the right jewelry, nail color, and purse for her outfit.
She will be remembered for her happy demeanor, and often having a smile on her face. She loved dancing, playing slot machines, and holidays; and in quiet times, she enjoyed reading books and doing word searches. Annette loved flowers, especially roses, and also collected many windchimes, which always amused the grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving and dear husband of 47 years, Bill; three children, James (Erika Nuck) Hooper of Wisconsin, Stephanie (George) Krauss of Carpentersville, and Michael Hooper of McHenry; three grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan, and Addison; two sisters, Sylvia (Allen) Lazar and Eileen (Richard) Saxner; a niece, Michele (Jody) Graff; and two nephews, Craig (Amy) Saxner and Todd (Stephanie) Lazar.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her dear mother-in-law, Marjorie Hooper; and her nephew, Scott Saxner.
