Anthea M. (nee Sommer) Creden, age 63, of Johnsburg, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at her home.
She was born July 31, 1943 in Hoensbroek, Holland to Frans and Elizabeth (Verboeket) Sommer. On July 11, 1970 she married Philip S. Creden in Winnetka.
Born and raised in Holland, Anthea came to the United State in 1969 to live in Winnetka. She had been an active member of the McHenry Women of the Moose Chapter #1348 in the College of Regents since 1988. She was also a bartender for the McHenry Moose Lodge and the McHenry V.F.W.
A loving grandmother, she was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting, flower arranging, and going to casinos.
Survivors include her husband Philip of 36 years; two children, Dawn (Dennis) Cherry of Oswego, Scott (Cindi) Creden of Twin Lakes, WI.; six grandchildren, Matt, Beth, Nathan, Zack, Kayla, Konnor; and four great grandchildren, Kloie, Jessica, Jasmine, and Phillip; three brothers, Gerald Sommer, Jack Sommer, Leo Sommer; and three sisters, Rita Janssen, Wilma Thissen, and Anne Marie Van Deve; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother Frans Sommer.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, April 9, at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry, Il 60050.
The funeral service will be at 8 p.m. on Monday, April 9, at the funeral home.
Closing prayers will be said at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10 at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Windridge Memorial Park Cemetery, Cary, Il.
