Barbara Jane Summers, age 78 of McHenry, IL, passed away on April 16, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on September 12, 1943, in Eva, Tennessee to James and Mavis Watson. She married the love of her life, Bob Summers on September 30, 1962, in Chicago, IL.

Barbara was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. When she was young, she helped in caring for her siblings. That carried over into the care of her own family, as she and Bob raised their daughters and helped them to raise their children. She also worked full time while raising her family, she was generous and dedicated in everything she did.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bob, her children; Sherry (Michael) Smerling, Tracy (Shawn) Bennett, Kim (Joe) Feigel, her grandchildren; Ashley, Mike, Rob, Justin, Drew, Jessica, Alex, and her great grandchildren; Lucas, Lyla, Addison, Jones, Mike, Mason, Madison. Also her siblings; JR, Cil, Floyd, Lloyd, Tommy, Eddie, Gary and Brenda.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mavis Watson and her sisters Dorothy Summers and June Bynum.

A visitation will take place at the Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL, on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, from 4-7 pm.  All attendees are recommended to wear a face covering, but not required.
