Mr. Benjamin “Benyi” Torres Negron, age 67, of Spring Grove, Illinois, passed away on April 16, 2022, at Northwestern Medicine-McHenry Hospital. He was born on May 6, 1954, to Luis Torres Marrero and Praxedes Negron Rivera in Yauco, Puerto Rico. On May 23, 1975, he was united in marriage to Sol A Galarza Vazquez in Yauco, and proudly served in the United States Army from 1979 to 1984.

Benyi was a man who enjoyed life and considered his family his greatest accomplishment. He was very loving, caring, and always looked after others. He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. His hobbies included gardening, experiencing nature, and playing with his doggy, Sparky.

Benyi was preceded in death by his father, Luis and survived by his loving wife; Sol, his children; Marisol, Benjamin, Roberto, Xavier, his grandchildren; Mariela, Joshua, Jomar, Sergio and Daniel, his mother; Praxedes, his siblings; Luisin, Lucy, Vilma.

Memorial will take place on Saturday April 23, 2022 at 2 pm at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church 453 Pierson Street, Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Friends and loved ones may share their favorite memories of Benyi at a later date at Funeraria Pacheco in Yauco, Puerto Rico.

El Sr. Benjamín “Benyi” Torres Negrón, de 67 años, de Spring Grove, Illinois, falleció el 16 de abril de 2022 en el Northwestern Medicine-McHenry Hospital. Nació el 6 de mayo de 1954, hijo de Luis Torres Marrero y Práxedes Negrón Rivera en Yauco, Puerto Rico. El 23 de mayo de 1975 se unió en matrimonio con Sol A. Galarza Vázquez en Yauco y orgullosamente sirvió en el Ejército de los Estados Unidos del 1979 al 1984.

Benyi era un hombre que disfrutaba de la vida y consideraba a su familia su mayor logro. Era muy cariñoso y siempre cuidaba de los demás. Adoraba a sus nietos y le encantaba pasar tiempo con ellos. Sus pasatiempos incluian la jardinería, disfrutar de la naturaleza y jugar con su perrito, Sparky.

Benyi fue precedido en la muerte por su padre, Luis y le sobrevive su amada esposa; Sol, sus hijos; Marisol, Benjamín, Roberto, Xavier, sus nietos; Mariela, Joshua, Jomar, Sergio y Daniel, su madre; Práxedes, sus hermanos; Luisín, Luz A. (Lucy) y Vilma.

La misa en memoria se llevarán a cabo el sábado 23 de abril de 2022 a las 2 pm en la Iglesia Católica St. Thomas The Apostle 272 King St, Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Los amigos y seres queridos pueden compartir sus recuerdos favoritos de Benyi en una fecha posterior en la Funeraria Pacheco en Yauco, Puerto Rico.
