Bernard “Bernie” Feilen, age 58, of Wonder Lake, passed away, Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born November 29, 1958, in Chicago, to Bernard J. and Edna (Weston) Feilen. On May 28, 1988, he married the love of his life, Terry Lamberg.
Bernie worked at Cotter and Co. Tru test in Cary, then went to school for his Associates degree in HVAC systems. He worked in the HVAC field for 14 years. After this, he found his retirement job in the McHenry West Campus High School.
He was active in Wonder Lake Baseball, Wonder Lake Men’s Club, and McHenry Jaycee. He was a fan of the Chicago Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, and the White Sox. He was able to see all four of his teams win championships and most importantly, he never had to see the Chicago Cubs win the World Series. He was a caring husband, loving father, and will be missed by many.
Bernie is survived by his wife, Terry; two sons, Jonathon, Joseph; his sister, Barb (George) Chumprinkas.
In addition to his parents, Bernie is preceded in death by his sister, Diane, his father and mother-in-law, Raymond (Laverne) Lamberg, and his aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2016, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050. The funeral service will be 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
The cremation rite will be accorded privately.
