Betty Lou Mohan, age 93, of McHenry, died Monday, October 13, 2014, at Crystal Pines Health Care Center in Crystal Lake.
She was born June 14, 1921 in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Murray and Violet (Hall) Feuer. A resident of McHenry County for over 40 years, Betty was a member of The Church of Holy Apostles in McHenry. Betty was an avid bridge player, and enjoyed dancing throughout her lifetime. Also an avid golfer, she was a longtime member of the McHenry Country Club and it’s Hole-In-One Club. Her loving family was greatest source of joy in life.
Survivors include two children, Judy (Dan) Gallagher of Crystal Lake and Mary Beth (John) Bromfield of Walworth; nine grandchildren, Erin (Mike) Smith, Peggy (Brian) Truckenbrod, Daniel (Kelly) Gallagher, Kevin (Gina) Gallagher, Stephen Gallagher, John (Ellen) Yundt, Debbie (Doug) Reuter, John Bromfield, Jr., Betsy Koss; and 24 great grandchildren, Brittani, Morgan, Rachel, Keith, Jack, Michael, Megan, Timothy, Daniel, Bradley, Molly, Sean, Connor, Mary Grace, Abigail, Nate, Jacob, Reese, Amanda, Spencer, Madeline, Ryan, Nicollette, and John.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Mohan on September 11, 1990; two brothers, Murray and Owen; and a sister, Maxine.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050.
Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until closing prayers at 9 a.m., then leaving in procession for the 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Thomas Church, Crystal Lake.
Interment will be in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
