Beverly “Bev” Elaine Jahnke, 95, of McHenry, IL departed her loving family on January 18, 2022. Bev was born to the late Mildred and Harry Newberg on July 17, 1926, in Chicago, IL. Moved to Buffalo Grove, IL in 1961 to raise her family and retired to Largo FL in 1984.

Bev loved to dance, from Ballroom in her youth to Square Dancing with her late husband Herb of 56 years. She was the first to smile and say hello when walking into a room. Always there for you when you needed support or a helping hand. Her friends were lifetime friends, her family was her greatest joy.

Beverly was proud mother to four children: Antoinette (Roberta) Jahnke of San Mateo CA., Thomas (Teri) Jahnke of McHenry IL, Teresa (Ed) Fortman of Melbourne FL. and the late Herbert Jahnke. Grandmother to Nicole, Stefanie, Michael, Daniel and Kathryn. Great-Grandmother to seven. Sister-in-law to Carol Boas (Mike Caouette) and called Aunt Bev by many nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Herbert, son Herbie, sister Shirley Trinski, brother Kenneth Boas and brother-in-law Robert Trinski. Donations may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation at https://www.macular.org.

A visitation will be held on May 21, at Justen Funeral Home, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Rd, McHenry, IL 60050, from 11-1. A Memorial Service will follow at 1:00. Burial will follow at Richmond Cemetery.
