Carl J. Adams, age 81, of Macon, Georgia and formerly of Johnsburg, died Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon, Georgia.
Born July 22, 1927 in Johnsburg to Otto and Colletta (Freund) Adams. Carl was raised in Johnsburg, he graduated from McHenry High School in 1945. He attended Lake Forest College before entering the U.S. Army, serving during WWII. After his discharge from the service he moved to West California in 1949.
He was employed at the Captain Cook Travel Agency for over 40 years. In 1989 he moved to Missouri to be closer to his family.
He is survived by two brothers, Albert (Dorothy) Adams of McHenry, Joel (Sally) Adams of Bevier, MO.; and nine nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may greet the family from 10:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass celebrated on Thursday, March 26, 2009, at St. John the Baptist Church, 2302 W. Church Avenue, Johnsburg, Il 60051.
Inurnment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Johnsburg.
