Carmie T. “Tom” Esposito, age 82, of Johnsburg, died Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at North Collier Hospital in Naples, Florida.
He was born August 25, 1926 in Chicago to Frank and Theresa (DeBartola) Esposito. On May 5, 1951 he married Patricia Clements in Chicago.
He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp. serving during WWII.
Formerly of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, Tom had been a resident of Johnsburg since 1973. He graduated from South Shore High School in Chicago. During his High School years, Tom was a star athlete in football and basketball earning him a scholarship to Missouri State University. He was employed as an electrical production manager for over 15 years at Zenith in Chicago and also was a consultant for I.T.W.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and a volunteer for the YMCA Indian Guide program. He was an avid golfer and was fondly named by his family “the organizer” for family gatherings and picnics. He will be missed for his caring spirit and his performance of the Lords Prayer in Indian sign language.
Lovingly missed by his wife Patricia of 57 years; four children, Karen (Dan Blais) Esposito of Springfield, MA., Kim (Bill) Carlos of Hampden, MA., Scott (Tracy) Esposito of Crystal Lake, Tracy (Gary) Louis of Bartlett; seven grandchildren, Joseph Carlos, Candace, Cassandra, Chris and Cory Esposito, Nicole and Alec Louis; and a sister, Theresa “Jean” (Ken) Dodge of Johnsburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 2, 2009, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, Il 60050.
Visitation will continue on Tuesday, March 3, at the Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. when prayers will be said before leaving for the funeral mass.
The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, at St. John the Baptist Church, 2302 W. Church St., Johnsburg, Il 60051.
Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Johnsburg.
