Caroline G. Mayer, of Wonder Lake, IL, passed away at home on March 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 31, 1958, in Chicago, IL, to Claire and Edythe (Rubens) Koehler. She met and married the love of her life, Mark on August 31, 1985.

Caroline was a very community minded person who was a past President of the Harrison School Board, a past PTO President, and current President of the Indian Ridge Subdivision board and also Beach Commissioner. She loved to be in her garden in her backyard, making sure that she had the best yard. She collected jewelry. She was her mother’s daughter, always taking care of others first. She was the glue of the family. Caroline was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and person.

Caroline is survived by her grandchildren; Ava Grey Mayer, Brinlee Marie Mayer, Amara Gracelynn Mayer, her children; Dakota Reed Mayer, Jeremiah David Mayer, Cheyenne Lee Mayer, her siblings; Claire (DuWayne) Fair, Vicky Spears, Jeff Koehler, Steven Koehler, Trisha Koehler, Cheryl (Corey Weed) Koehler, and her loving husband of 37 years, Mark. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews along with a large family and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Claire and Edythe (Rubens) Koehler, and her niece, Amanda Fair.
