Catharina Carlson age 90 of Ingleside, Illinois, passed away on December 6, 2021. She was born on the Island of Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, on April 8, 1931 to Fope and Petronela (Enters) Molenaar.
She grew up in Amsterdam with her sister Pam and brothers Andre and Ko.
Catharina started her Career in Aviation very young, as a Stewardess with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, traveling around the world. She met her Husband, Abraham Starrenburg, in New York and Immigrated to the United States. After starting a family, she returned to working for KLM in Chicago, as a Customer Service Agent, on the ground. When she retired, she became a resident of Door County, Wisconsin, where she enjoyed wildlife and the arts, she started painting and kept the Eagle Bluff Lighthouses’ history alive, as a tour guide.
Catharina is survived by her children; Dominique Meziere, Ingrid Perrino, Neil (Teri) Starrenburg and Ronald Starrenburg, 8 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and one sibling Ko Molenaar.
Catharina was preceded in death by her parents; Fope and Petronela (Enters) Molenaar, her siblings; Andre Molenaar and Pam Leenders, and her daughter in law Mary Starrenburg.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Justen Funeral Home and Crematory, McHenry, Illinois. All services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to The National Wildlife Federation, P.O. Box 1583, Merrifield, VA 22116-1583, 1-800-822-9919.
