Charles Olen Peace, age 74, of Ingleside formerly of Mount Prospect, died Saturday, December 23, 2006 at his home.
Charles was born September14, 1932 in Chicago to Charles and Virginia (Davis) Peace. On April 1, 1977 he married Margaret “Peg” Miller.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War as a sergeant.
Charles was a 15 year resident of Ingleside. He was proprietor of CP Flooring in Mount Prospect. He also had a charter fishing service on Lake Michigan and was affectionately known at the harbor as “Captain Charlie.”
He belonged to Carpenter’s Union 1185 and later in Teamsters Union Local 786.
Survivors include his wife and best friend, Peg; a son, Mark Peace; “Adopted” children, James (Nadine) Miller of Elgin, Steve (Katy) Miller of Lake in the Hills, Gregg (Helen) Miller of Wauconda, Nicole Miller of Schaumburg, Jennifer (Alan Perkins) Tones of Crystal Lake; “Adopted” grandchildren, Ryan, Michael, and Courtney Tones, and Josh and Nicholas Miller; sisters, Elizabeth (Joseph) Steiner, Kay (the late Ed) Ciasnocha, and Virginia (the late Bob) Clark; a sister-in-law Cheryl (Mark) Plencner of Chicago; Goddaughter and niece, Samantha Plencner; nieces and nephews, Scott (Jessica) Plencner, George (Rose) Steiner, Ginny (Darstan) Singhaus, Cindy Ciasnocha, and Lisa Vedder
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Theresa (Howard) Eckhoff; a brother-in-law, Glenn Miller; and a niece Debbie Sheppard.
The visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 26, at Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Ct., Round Lake, IL 60073.
A prayer service will be held at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Inurnment will be private.
