Charles R. Jinga, age 86, of McHenry and formerly of Wonder Lake, died Friday, November 22, 2013 at his home.
He was born April 19, 1927 in Chicago to Joseph and Mary (Kranitz) Jinga.
Formerly of Woodstock, Charles had been a resident of Wonder Lake since 1955 and most recently of Fox Point Assisted Living in McHenry.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the infantry during WWII. After serving in the Army, Charles was employed in the Tool & Die industry working for Union Special in Huntley. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golfing, baseball and tennis. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Charles was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church in Wonder Lake.
He is survived by three children, Linda (Michael) Malouf of Lake Geneva, WI, Laura (Ray) Hoglund of Spring Grove, Mark (Adrianne) Jinga of Lake Geneva; eight grandchildren, Emily and Christopher ‘Kiko’ Malouf, Sara (Eric) Floyd, Hali Hoglund, Amanda Hoglund, Connor Hoglund, Madison Hoglund, Maxim Jinga; and a brother, Edwin Jinga.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Therese A. Jinga in November of 1995; his parents; two sisters, Julia Wilmington, Sylvia Walters; and two brothers, Walter Jinga and Joseph Jinga.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2013, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Justen’s Wonder Lake Funeral Home, 7611 Hancock Drive, Wonder Lake, IL 60097.
Visitation will resume on Monday, November 25, from 9:30 a.m. until prayers at 10:30 a.m. leaving for the 11 a.m. funeral Mass at Christ The King Catholic Church, 5006 E. Wonder Lake Road, Wonder Lake, Il 60097.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
