Christine Ann Cowen, age 63, of Round Lake, IL, peacefully passed away at home on January 30th, 2022. Christine was born on May 4th, 1958, to Lyle and Doris (Olsen) Seaman in Helena, Montana. Christine married the love of her life, Mel Cowen, on 04/15/2015, in Antioch, IL, encircled by family and friends.

Christine was a devoted sleep educator for 30 years. Throughout that time, she worked diligently to improve patient quality of life through her outreach and support programs. Christine treasured her career in sleep and has enjoyed lifelong friendships with those she helped, mentored, and worked with, through the years. Christine had a BIG heart and wore it on her sleeve. She was tremendously generous with those she loved. Her family was the most important part of her life. She enjoyed creating one-of-a-kind keepsakes for her loved ones through her favorite pastimes of knitting, crocheting and sewing. She was an amazing cook, baker, and artist. Her creativity was a gift she happily shared with others in all its masterful forms.

Christine is survived by her husband, Mel Cowen, her children; Angela (Aaron) Dall, Valerie (Conrad) Soboniak, her grandchildren; Gwendalynn Woods, Ashley Heery, Samantha, Zackary and AnnaLynn Dall, Aubrey, Mackenzie and Paxton Soboniak, her mother; Doris Olsen, and her siblings; Mike (Anne) and Robbie Seaman.

Christine was preceded in death by her father, Lyle Seaman and her brothers, Rue and Nicholas Seaman.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 1 – 3 PM at the Justen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL.
