Colleen Marie Mahoney, age 34, of McHenry, entered eternal rest Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Centegra Hospital – Woodstock.
Born June 17, 1981 in Des Plaines to Patrick and Linda (Ohm) Mahoney, Colleen was a graduate of the McHenry County College SEDOM Program and lived life to the fullest. Her passions included horseback riding, bowling, cooking, movies and music. As a cheerleader for her family and friends, Colleen allowed everyone around her to feel unique and special while enjoying every moment of every day. As the oldest of four children, Colleen and her addictive smile touched more people than we will ever know. Her angelic spirit will long be remembered by the infinite lives she has touched.
Colleen is survived by her loving family, including her parents, Linda and Patrick; her brothers, Patrick and Ryan; her sister, Kelly; her maternal grandmother, Betty Ohm; aunts & uncles, Michael (Marie) Ohm, Mariann Mahoney, Daniel (Peg) Mahoney, John “Tim” (Kathy) Mahoney, Joseph “Vince” (Patti) Mahoney, William (Carolyn) Mahoney, Joanne Sanigrossi; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ken “Papa” Ohm; her paternal grandparents, Michael and Patricia Mahoney; and her uncles, Michael Mahoney and Philip Ohm.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2016, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050. Visitation will resume Tuesday, February 2, at 9:30 a.m. at The Church of Holy Apostles, 5211 W. Bull Valley Road, McHenry, IL 60050. The funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, with entombment following in the church cemetery.
