Darrel Clark Butler, age 71, of Round Lake Beach, IL passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 9, 1950, in Morgantown, West Virginia to Earl Butler and Erma Hamrick.
Darrel met and married the love of his life and best friend Linda Sheriff on January 4, 1988, and they were happily married for 34 years.
Darrel proudly served in the United States Navy and the Navy reserves, he is a retired dedicated employee of the Round Lake school district. Darrel liked sports such as baseball and touch football, he liked to go antiquing, and doing ceramics. He loved being outdoors and any activity that could be done outside like going for walks with his beloved dogs (Wolfy and Ariel). He also liked to watch a good movie and go to a nice restaurant but the thing he loved the most was spending time with his family whether he was teaching his son when he was little to skate or taking his granddaughter to the carnival for the rides or teaching her to swim. It didn’t matter what they were doing if they were together. Darrel cherished and loved his family and friends and all the memories they were making together. He was loved by his brother in laws, who all accepted him as the sixth brother, Darrel was loved by everyone who knew him, he will be greatly missed by all.
Darrel is survived by his wife: Linda; daughter: Ambere; son: Trevor; granddaughter: Mikaela.
Darrel is preceded in death by his siblings; and parents: Earl and Erma Butler.
Visitation will be held at Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Court, Round Lake, IL on Thursday, September 16, 2021, from 4 – 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 110 Lincoln Ave, Round Lake, IL at 9:30 am. With burial to follow at Ascension Cemetery.
