Donald A. Michael, age 65, of McHenry, died Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry.
     He was born November 22, 1940 in Chicago to Alfons and Fanny (Plain) Michael. On August 22, 1964 he married Betty J. Stauter in McHenry.
     Donald had lived in McHenry for the past 50 years. He worked in the sheet metal industry for over 45 years. He was employed by Woodstock Heating and in his later years he worked as a stationary engineer for McHenry Middle School District #15 and also for McHenry High School East Campus District #156.
     He enjoyed NASCAR races, and the Saturday night races at Lake Geneva Raceway. He also loved to camping, snowmobiling and traveling.
     Survivors include his wife of 41 years; three children, Cindy Michael of McHenry, Joseph Buchert of Crystal Lake, Don Michael of McHenry; three grandchildren, Kim, Kyle and Jayme.
     Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2006 at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St.
     The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, at the funeral home.
     Inurnment will be private.
