Donna Erin Rupp, age 40, of McHenry, ascended into glory on February 14, 2019 at JourneyCare – Barrington. She was born on December 1, 1978 in Woodstock, IL to John C. and Peggy L. (Tomlinson) Rupp.
A profoundly loved preschool teacher, Donna’s relationship with her students was nothing short of extraordinary. At preschool graduation, Donna wore a look of pride and smile on her face as her students approached her to get their diplomas. For her students, Miss Donna made an impact that will last a lifetime.
Deeply committed to fundraising, Donna often coordinated events on her own. A spokeswoman for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, Donna promoted the McHenry community’s participation in its quest to conquer childhood cancer. The foundation is entering its tenth year of fundraising in the community. Donna made a personal impact by sharing her own story of being a mother of a two year old with cancer and her son, Jackson, is an honor child for St. Baldrick’s.
Donna was involved with the Woodstock Opera House and adored musical theater, memorizing and singing every Broadway song. She loved watching Food Network, baking, arts and craft projects, painting, and photography. Her family meant everything to her and Donna’s greatest joy was being a stay at home mother.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her partner, Jeff Tazbier of McHenry; her mother, Peggy (Max) Lindsey of Oakwood, IL; her father, John Rupp of McHenry; her child, Cooper Tazbier; and her brother, Brian (Tammy) Rupp of Plainfield, IL.
She was reunited with her son, Jackson Alan Grabow, who ascended into glory on April 5, 2009.
