Dorothy “Dot” Clifton, age 83, of Johnsburg, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at Burr Oak Manor in Genoa City, WI.
She was born May 3, 1931 in Danville and married Steven Clifton on November 1, 1980.
Dot was a registered nurse, and worked for many years with the McHenry County Department of Health in the Home Health Department. She also worked in Emergency Services for McHenry County, holding the rank of Sgt. with the department.
Dot attended church at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg. An avid bingo player, she celebrated her 80th birthday by going skydiving.
She was a loving wife and mother, and very much enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Steven; five children, Susan (Robert) Vargason, Gust (Susan) Rumentzas, Tony Rumentzas, Steven M. (Sherry) Clifton, and Cynthia (Donald) Janus; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandsons; and three great-great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. The cremation rite will be accorded privately.
