Dorothy M. Kuta was born and raised in Chicago, the daughter of Alexander and Louise (nee Kalucki) Kuta. She attended Mount Mary College in Milwaukee and earned a degree from Fordham University in New York in 1959. Dorothy made her final vows with the Sisters of the Resurrection in 1962, taking the name Sister Pauline Marie. As Sister Pauline Marie, and later as Miss Kuta, she taught English to generations of Illinois school children, most recently at Parkland School in McHenry, until she retired in 1992. As Aunt Dorothy, she traveled to Montana countless times in order to spoil her nephew Yancy and niece Merrica. Dorothy was an active member of the Church of Holy Apostles, enriching many lives while serving in various ministries. She passed away on Friday March 24th, 2017. Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother, Alexander Kuta, Jr., and is survived by his wife Pauline and their sons Alexander Kuta III and Louis Kuta as well as her sister Christine Dominick (of Seattle); her nephew Yancy Dominick, his wife Emily and son Franklin (of Seattle); and her niece Merrica and her partner Nick (currently residing in Morocco). Services will be held at the Church of Holy Apostles, 5211 W. Bull Valley Road, McHenry, IL 60050, at 10:00 on Monday April 3rd, 2017, with a private burial.
