Earl Richard Rigsby, age 82, of Round Lake Park, died Friday, February 17, 2012 at his home, in the comfort of his family.
He was born August 28, 1929 in Chicago to Earl and Ellen (Naughton) Rigsby. On October 16, 1954 he married Emilie Marie Chayer.
Formerly of Chicago, Earl had lived in Round Lake Park for the past 47 years. He was employed as a commercial artist /sign painter for Mayflower Foods, Inc. and also for Six Flags Great America Theme Park.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean War.
He is survived by six children, Ulf (Pam) Chayer of Round Lake, Carl (Leah) Chayer of Grayslake, Linda (Bill) Boltz of Waukegan, Earl Rigsby of Round Lake Park, Peggy (George) Johnson of Lake Villa, Dirk (Francisca) Rigsby of Tomah, WI; ten grandchildren, Tracy (Dean) Albrect of Genoa City, WI, Tina Carter of McHenry, Matthew (Heather) Chayer of Land O’Lakes, WI, Jamie Jones of Waukegan, Krystal Chayer of Round Lake Park, George Johnson of Lake Villa, Amber Chayer of Round Lake, Amelia (Juan) Rodriguez of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Dirk Rigsby of Tomah, Sari Mia Rigsby of Tomah; and five great-grandchildren, Justin and Chase Albrect of Genoa City, Dennis Carter of McHenry, Juan Jr. and Romeo Rodriquez of Pleasant Prairie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emilie “Mia” in 2002; and his parents.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 W. North Rosedale Court, Round Lake, IL 60073.
Visitation will resume at the funeral home Friday, February 24, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. After closing prayers, the funeral procession will leave the funeral home for the 11 a.m. funeral service at Ivanhoe Congregational Church, 21078 W. Route 176, Mundelein, IL 60060. Interment will be in Ivanhoe Cemetery, Ivanhoe.
