Edward B. Mudgett 61, of Wonder Lake, Illinois Passed away Saturday May 28, 2022
Edward “Butch” Mudgett was the son of Edward LeRoy Mudgett and Mabel Margret (Slack) Mudgett, born May 4, 1961, in Wareham, Ma. Coming from a military family Butch lived several places as a child until the family settled in Rantoul, Illinois. There he graduated from Rantoul Township High School in 1979 and attended Parkland College where he earned an Associate Degree in Science.
He was a longtime employee of Shutters Inc. in Hebron, Illinois before moving to Anchorage Alaska. There he started his career with UPS and was presently working at their facility in Palatine, Illinois.
Butch was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and when it came to football, there was no better team than the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed the track be it betting on horses or dogs and loved playing cribbage, dominos, and cards no matter what the game if he was winning. He had an infectious laugh, a wonderful sense of humor and put on a party like no other, not to mention made the best drink around. You couldn’t have asked for a more caring and loving family man, to say he will be missed does not even scratch the surface.
Butch is survived by his son, Edward J Mudgett of Duluth, Minnesota, his daughter Ginny May Mudgett, daughter in law Brittney Mudgett and Granddaughter Harlow Marie Mudgett of Joliet, Illinois. His life partner Donna Tharp of Wonder Lake, Illinois, sisters, Shirley Taylor of Anchorage Alaska, Deborah Lehman of Ludlow, Illinois, and Rebecca (Robert) Nelson of Rantoul, Illinois. Butch had numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins along with Aunts and Uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Margret (Slack) Mudgett, his Father, Edward LeRoy Mudgett and a brother Steven Mudgett.
