Elaine L. Koziol, age 82, of McHenry, died Sunday, February 26, 2006 at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry.
She was born August 29, 1923 in Chicago to Christopher and Anne (Hansen) Benson.
Formerly of Chicago, Elaine was a resident of McHenry for the past nine years. Prior to retirement, she worked in the banking field in Chicago.
Living with her daughter and family for the past several years, Elaine was very close to her grandchildren as she watched them grow up. Her family and friends will readily recall her as a most enthusiastic bingo player. Milwaukee was a favorite place to travel with friends for bingo games. Memories also include bowling as an enjoyment for many years.
She leaves a daughter, Chrisann (James) Carr of McHenry; two grandchildren, Daniel and Kellie of McHenry; a sister, Lorraine (the late Walter) Pekovitch of McHenry; and a brother, Gerald (Eleanor) Benson of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Manuel Blasco in 1981; her second husband, Milton Koziol in 1995; four brothers, Oliver, Walter, Elmer, and a brother in youth; and a sister, June.
Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry, IL 60050.
The funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, at the funeral Home. The Rev. Roger Schneider will officiate.
Inurnment will be private.
