Eugene Branski, age 84, of Hainesville and formerly of Buffalo Grove, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at his home.
He was born August 16, 1927 in Chicago to Eugene and Elizabeth (Rak) Branski. On June 2, 1951, he married Marion Lynch at St. Stephen King of Hungary Church in Chicago.
A former resident of Buffalo Grove since 1965, Eugene and his wife moved to Sarasota, Florida, after his retirement. They returned to live in Hainesville in 2001 to be closer to their family.
He was employed as an electrician for over 38 years and was a member of the IBEW Local #134 since 1952. He spoke proudly of working on such projects as United Airlines terminal at O’Hare, Glenbrook Hospital and Northwest Community Hospital.
Eugene was a veteran of the U.S. Army stationed at Ft. Sheridan. He was an avid golfer playing at Buffalo Grove Golf Course. He enjoyed all sports but his favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bulls.
Survived by his wife of 60 years, Marion; loving father of, Patricia ( Michael ) Grandt, John Branski, James (Alina) Branski; proud grandfather of, Travis, K.D. Jason, Oliwia and Laura.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Jerome and Emil.
The funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 114 N. Lincoln Avenue, Round Lake, IL 60073.
