Faye Adele Harris, age 84, of Johnsburg, passed away at her residence, surrounded by those most dear, on August 31, 2016.
She was born to Fred and Leota (Brock) Keller in Du Quoin, Illinois on December 2, 1931. Faye met the love of her life, F. Wade Harris, and the two were united in marriage on June 21, 1952 in Carbondale, Illinois.
Before moving to Johnsburg in 2000, Faye and her husband were residents of Barrington for 27 years. She was crowned Miss Southern Illinois in 1952 and after graduating from Southern Illinois University with her bachelors degree, Faye went on to become a teacher. She taught secondary education English in both Homer, Illinois and El Paso, Texas. In addition to teaching, Faye was also a real estate agent who worked in both the Barrington and Hoffman Estates areas.
Faye loved the outdoors and could be found gardening in her spare time, nurturing her flowers to perfection. In addition, she was also an avid golfer. Faye always put her family first and will be remembered by all as a kind, compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who loved with her entire heart.
She is survived by her husband F. Wade Harris, her daughter Tracy Amato, her son Todd Harris, brother Ace Keller, sister Maretta Hall, grandson Zachary Amato.
Visitation and services for Faye will be private. The cremation rite was accorded privately.
