Franklin D. Kline Sr., age 75, of McHenry, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at the home of his daughter.
He was born September 14, 1939 in Reading, Pennsylvania to Walter and Jenny (Keller) Kline.
A resident of McHenry County since 1976, Franklin was a former resident of Pennsylvania. Prior to retirement, he was employed as an assembler with Knaack Mfg. of Crystal Lake.
Franklin was a longtime member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge. A die-hard Chicago Cubs baseball fan, he was also an avid fan of Chicago Bears football. Leisure activities included riding his bicycle, and more recently, visiting with people as he sat outside at his daughter’s home. He loved to spend time with family, and was a proud and adoring grandfather to his ten grandchildren.
Survivors include four children, Karyn Henson of McHenry, Franklin Jr. (Kim) Kline of Harvard, Candace Oppenhagen of McHenry, Catharine (Marvin) Pizanowski of McHenry; grandchildren, Shawn, Ryan, Joshua, Tazzandria, Cody, Katie, Edward II, Nikolas, Brittany and Kayla; a brother, Walter (Barbara) Kline Jr. of Pennsylvania; a sister, Shirley (Eugene) Kozlowski of Reading, Pennsylvania; a brother, Gary Kline and a stepbrother, Guy Pellicciotti.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Betty, in November of 2009.
Services were private for his family.
