Fred was a great friend. When I first met him at Lion Bud Thomas's beach front party, I watched him entertain with the pole (stick) band. Then he demanded that I come up and replace him as an entertainer. At first I refused (having no musical talents) but he insisted that I join in the festiveties. He had a talent for bringing people "out" Keep flying Fred!

Our hearts hurt over Fred's passing. He was such a fun loving guy with a smile on his face. On meeting nights, I would anticipate him coming in and asking "where's my hug"--. He was a great hugger. I remember our holiday get togethers at your home where both of you were so gracious to welcome all of us. And Fred behind the bar being such a great bar tender. I remember well him being one of our cooks at our fundraisers. Fred was always there for these events-- cooking up hamburgers with the rest of the cook team. Fred was the rock for our Lions club and a wonderful friend. We are blessed to have our life paths cross. We send love to his wife Barb and to the rest of the family. Mary and Bill

Fred was truly a good man!! He always had a genuine smile, funny joke, and a joyous disposition about him. Working with him during Lions club events made me realize that even work, should be fun!! We loved seeing the way he and Barb decorated the house for Christmas, and the many “Fredism” phrases he had. Our eyes are teary and our hearts are sad at the loss of Fred. He truly left a mark. That smile of his, that glint in his eye, the way he loved his Barb, and the hugs he gave… he made the world brighter. RIP Fred. You were truly one of a kind.❤️Blessings and Love to Barb and Bobby…. Sincerely, Dave and Michelle Hendee

So sad but we have so many memories of fun times. He has held every office in the McHenry Lions Club & worked side-by-side with friends & members to accomplish good things to help folks in the community. I bet he's already mixed Johnny a cocktail! The pre-Christmas party at Fred & Barb's was better than the actual party now & again. Hugs.
