Genevieve Ann Jacobs, age 85, of Johnsburg, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at her home.
She was born June 3, 1921 in Chicago to William and Helen (Case) Nehf. Previously of Palatine, Genevieve had also lived in Cary prior to moving to the Whispering Hills subdivision in Johnsburg fifteen years ago.
She was the job placement director for the American Veterinary Medical Association in Schaumburg for over twelve years. Early in her career she was a professional singer. She sang on WGN’s Rubens Stars of Tomorrow and also entertained servicemen during WWII. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts and her animals.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna (James Theel) Grant of McHenry.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Jacobs on December 13, 1977; her parents; and a sister Florence Ludtka.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 N. Green St., McHenry, Il 60050.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 13, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
Interment will be in St. John Nepomucine Cemetery, Fox River Grove, Il.
