Gerald Borucki, age 83, of Woodstock, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 14, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois to George and Bernice (Czarnowski) Borucki.
An independent business owner, he owned and operated several towing, repair and service stations throughout his career. His unofficial towing company mascot was the Road Runner, with many of his truck’s horns customized to mimic the character’s famous call. Naturally playful, he had a passion for the towing of cars, trucks and boats and for fixing things, as well as collecting and enjoying LGB model trains. He loved to draw. He was also an avid couponer. His greatest achievement was his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom he enjoyed taking to Disney World, where his favorite character was Br’er Bear. Gerald served in the United States Army.
Gerald is survived by his loving children: Tammy, Jerry, Debbie (Greg), Sally (Dan), Bob (Sarah), Jason (Michele); his grandchildren: Gregory, Jeffrey, Loriann, Daniel, Kyle, Samantha, Cory, Camden, Cade, Aria and Asher; great grandchildren: Timmy, Daniel, Michael, Alice; and siblings: Barbara and George (Maryann).
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Bernice (Czarnowski) Borucki, his sister Darlene, and his brothers-in-law Hank Seligmann and Russel Kipkowski.
Visitation will be held at the Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, Illinois on Sunday, December 12, 2021, from 10-1 pm. Memorial service will follow at 1 pm. In accordance with public gatherings restrictions, all attendees are required to wear face coverings.
