Gordon G. Moen, age 86, of McHenry, died Friday, January 30, 2009 at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry.
He was born October 11, 1922 in Floodwood, Minnesota to Ole and Izola (Woodhouse) Moen. On August 8, 1953 he married Eileen B. Busam in Chicago.
Gordon was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a plant supervisor for over 30 years at Cook Electric which is now Northern Telecom, retiring in 1988. He was an avid car buff, loved to tinker and repair things.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Eileen; four daughters, Debbi Gossell of Round Lake, Cindy (Mark) O’Brien of Lake Bluff, Linda (John) Simmons of Twin Lakes, WI., Wendy (Drew) Ammons of McHenry; seven grandchildren, Ashlee, Brittany, Caitlin, Jason, Nate, Tyler, Madelyn; three brothers, Earl Moen, Kenny Moen, Neil Moen; and four sisters, Julie Mowers, Junnie Chesney, Gladys Chesney and Peggy McCoy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, Il 60050.
The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, at the funeral home.
