Harold L. Arteese, age 74, of Harvard, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 5, 1941 in Chicago, to Edward and Janet (English) Arteese.
Formerly of Wonder Lake, Harold has resided in Harvard for the last 10 years. His entire lifetime, he has raised Thoroughbred and Quarter horses in St. Charles. He was a residential carpenter, retired after 30 years, and a 20 year member of the McHenry County Carpenters Union Local 2087. He enjoyed wood crafting and wood working. Most of all, he was a great dad who loved raising his children.
Harold is survived by his two daughters, Tracy Arteese, Jennifer Musielak, David (Jo) Vega; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Alexander, Quinn, Matt, Maxx, Vaughn, Savanna, Olivia; two sisters, Darlene (Ray) Grybos, Jeannie (Barb) Bell; two brothers, Donald Arteese, Richard Arteese; and his special friend Ruthie Ratke.
In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his wife Linda Moriarity.
Friends and neighbors may gather from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050.
The cremation rite was accorded privately.
