Irene Marie Krivoski, age 83, of McHenry, died Sunday, June 18, 2006, at her home. She was born July 6, 1922 in Proctor, Minnesota to Edward and Helen (Thompson) Smith.
Irene worked at the Navy War Bond Office where she met her future husband and on January 27, 1945, she married Dusian “Duke” Krivoski. She spent many years working as an administrative assistant at Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes Hospital in Chicago.
After moving to Kentucky, she worked as a pharmacy transcriptionist at the Kentucky State Prison in Eddyville. She was a resident of McHenry since December of 2003, moving with her husband from Princeton, Kentucky, where they had lived for 29 years.
Enjoyments included gardening, birdwatching, and assisting her husband with political activities for elections. She was a caregiver for her mother and stepfather for several years.
Survivors include three children, Dusty (Gloria) Krivoski of Magalia, California, Kathie (Gerhard) Rosenberg of McHenry, and Susan (Charles) McKiddy of San Diego, California; six grandchildren, Dustin Krivoski, Neil (Shauna) Krivoski, Karl Rosenberg, Peter Rosenberg, Katherine Rosenberg, and Shelley Buchanan; two great grandchildren, Micah and Isaiah; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dusian, on March 17, 2004.
Friends may meet the family from 6:30 until the service at 7:30 p.m, Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 N. Green Street, McHenry, IL 60050.
Inurnment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at a later date.
