Jack A. McComb, age 70, died Monday, March 12, 2012 at Centegra Hospital – McHenry.
He was born June 2, 1941 in Melrose Park to George and Beverly (Worth) McComb. On January 24, 1959 he married Catherine C. Cullnan in Chicago.
Residents of Rolling Meadows for 35 years, Jack and his wife moved to Holiday Hills in 2005. He had been employed at Armstrong Paints and Eugene Dietzgen Company. He also worked as a sprinkler fitter in the fire protection industry over 17 years for the Grinell Company and Economy. He was a member of Sprinkler Fitters Local 281.
He was an avid fisherman, deer hunter, loved to garden, cook and enjoyed camping.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Catherine; two daughters, Terri (Douglas) McComb-Penczek of Algonquin, Traci (Terry) McComb-Karder of Lake In The Hills; a grandson, Brandon McComb; a brother, Jim (Monika) McComb of Chicago; and two sisters, June (Wayne) Hess of Belvidere and Joan Dircks of Iron Mountain, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Joel; and a sister, Jill. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry.
Visitation will continue on Saturday, March 17, from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. funeral service at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be private.
