James A. Simpson, age 80, of Round Lake Beach, died Friday, February 10, 2012, at his daughter’s home.
He was born February 11, 1931 to Howard J. and Rose E. (Oerel) Simpson. On April 27, 1957, he married Rosalyn Mlckovsky at St. Ferdinand Church in Chicago.
He served in the U. S. Veteran of the Korean War. After his discharge from the service, he worked for the City of Chicago, first for the Chicago Housing Authority and then for the Streets & Sanitation Department. He later worked for METRA as a supervisor in maintenance.
He was a member of Skokie Lodge #0774 and later Constellation Lodge #0974.
After living in McHenry since 1996, Jim moved to Round Lake Beach in 2008 to live with his daughter.
He is survived by two children, Laura (Michael) Holst of Round Lake Beach and Greg (Jan) Simpson of Palatine; four grandchildren, Jason, Breanna, Cori and Dayle; two great-grandchildren, Marlee Rose and Keagan Rae; two sisters, Lois Ritter and Patsy Beaudry; and a cousin, Emmett Roberts.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalyn, on March 28, 2008; two brothers, Howard L. and Leroy Simpson; and a sister, Dorothy, in infancy.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Court, Round Lake, IL 60073.
The funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
