James Allen Kennebeck, age 73, of DeKalb and formerly of McHenry, passed away Wednesday, May 24, at DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, in DeKalb.
Jim was born September 9, 1932 in McHenry to Henry and Helen (Freund) Kennebeck.
He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. James was a proud graduate of Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts & Science. He was employed at Northern Illinois University for over 30 years.
He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Joanne (the late Otto) Eiler of Des Plaines, Verona (Reno) Masini of Glenview; twelve niece; two nephews; many great nieces and nephews; and two godchildren, Carol (David Ahrens) Rubin of Madison, WI., Mary Jo (Frank Blackwell, Jr.) Kennebeck of Skokie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Geraldine (Russell) Lloyd and Doris Zerby; and two brothers, Donald and Richard Kennebeck.
Visitation will be from 10:45 a.m. until noon on Monday, May 29, 2006 at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm Street, McHenry, IL. 60050.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 p.m. on Monday, May 29, at St. Mary’s Church, 1401 Richmond Road, McHenry, Il. 60050.
Interment in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, McHenry.
