James C. Cullen of Huntley, IL, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2022, at the Randall Residence. He was born on August 28, 1938, in Houston, Pennsylvania, to Joseph Stewart and Roberta Irene (Jenkins) Cullen and was their only child. He met and married the love of his life, Rosemary Flowers in 1963.

He graduated from the California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in 1960, and graduated from the University of Maryland with a Master’s degree in Education. He retired as the Director of Federal Protective Service where he worked 30+ years in federal law enforcement and created GSA.  He was involved in the rotary clubs. He was in the church choir and also the Sun City Prairie Singers.  He enjoyed his woodworking and was part of the Woodchucks at Sun City Huntley.

James is survived by his daughters; Kimberly Elizabeth (John) Doerr and Robin Lynn Cullen (Peter Powers), his grandchildren; Kelly Rose Doerr, Stephanie Margaret Doerr, Michael Cullen Obermaier and Elizabeth Cullen Obermaier.

He was preceded in death by his wife; Rosemary Flowers and his parents; Joseph Stewart and Roberta Irene (Jenkins) Cullen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 4, 2022, from 2pm -5 pm at the Doerr’s Home, 1471 Alexandra Blvd., Crystal Lake, IL 60014. For any questions call Robin Cullen at 708-214-9657
