James J. Miller, Sr., 67, of Wonder Lake, passed away on December 4, 2018 at Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital. He was born in Toledo, OH on October 11, 1951 to Norbert and Joan (Drewicz) Miller. On June 13, 1970, James was united in marriage to Sharon Brenner at Christ the King Catholic Church in Wonder Lake.
Raised in Toledo, OH, James relocated to Wonder Lake in 1968. He was a valued employee of both McHenry Lumber and Wickes Lumber for over thirty years. In the mid-90s, James began the coveted position training other workers at the company in the art of selling doors and windows to contractors.
In addition to being a diehard Chicago Bears fan, James found deep joy in showing off his cherished 409 Chevy Impala at the many car shows he frequented. However, his life’s true love was time spent with his family and friends. James treasured nights dining out, vacationing, and going on cruises with his wife, as well as outings with their many beloved friends.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharon Miller; his son, James J. Miller, Jr., of Chicago; his daughter, Jamie Lynn Miller of San Francisco; and his siblings, William (Audrey) Miller of St. Louis and Nancy (Mike) Hamilton of Spencer, IN.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Miller.
