Janice Lossmann, age 58, of McHenry, died Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Alden Terrace of McHenry.
She was born March 28, 1950 in Chicago to Elmo and Shirley (Flatt) Lossmann.
Janice lived in McHenry for the majority of her lifetime. She was one of the first clients of the Pioneer Center, where she lived and was also employed. She enjoyed dancing with the Pioneer Players, as well as teaching sign language to other clients. Janice was very fond of animals, especially horses and dogs. She also enjoyed doing crafts as a hobby. Family activities she enjoyed included visiting a brother in Florida and a sister in California.
Survivors include two sisters, Doris Diedrich of Colorado and Linda Lossmann of California; and two brothers, Richard (Debbie) Lossmann of Florida, and George (Maureen) Lossmann of McHenry; three nieces and 7 nephews; and her many friends at Pioneer Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Lisa Marie and Nancy.
Friends may meet the family from 11:30 until 1:30, Thursday, July 24, 2008, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry.
A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Robert Sherry officiating.
Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
