Jean Arlene (Goodeve Kasting) Bowles, age 82, of Muskego, Wisconsin, passed away on July 3, 2020, at Tudor Oaks Senior Living Community. She was born on February 17, 1938, to Ralph and Florence (Donarski) Goodeve in Chicago, IL. On July 28, 1972, she was united in marriage to David Bowles in McHenry County, Illinois.
Jean was one of a large family with ten children. She was always very thankful to the Salvation Army for what they did for her family while growing up. Jean was a hardworking woman who took pride in her work. She loved Wonder Lake. In her younger years, Jean enjoyed swimming to the island and back and taking long walks through the town and surrounding countryside. Also, for a short time, Jean helped her husband, Dave, train and race standardbred horses. Jean loved a great movie and could take on anyone in a movie trivia contest. Jean really loved a good deal and was fond of yard sales. She would spend her time gardening and feeding and watching the birds. Jean was a big fan of crossword puzzles, word searches, and card games.
Jean is survived by her sisters, Carol (Goodeve) Simmons, and Kathy Goodeve, son, Martin Kasting of Poplar Grove, IL., daughters: Linda Mitchel of Mukwonago, WI, Mary Fredrick of Oconomowoc, WI, and Sandi Kasting (Chrys Dudek) of Nevada City, CA.
Grandchildren: Caila Fredrick (Andy Kuehn), Chase Fredrick (Jacqueline Fredrick), Dustin Ries (Lindsay Ries), Jessica Cain (Tim Cain), Benjamin Tejada (Torie Tejada), and Ryan Kasting (Britani Mathews)
Great-grandchildren: Camryn Ries, Ady Ries, Taylor Cain, Mason Cain, Conner Kasting, and Colten Kasting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Bowles, father, Ralph Goodeve, mother, Florence Goodeve, her ex-husband and father of her children, Joseph E. Kasting, and eight of ten of her siblings.
