Jean C. King (Thomas), age 75, of Crystal Lake and formerly of Villa Park, died Monday, January 4, 2010, in Crystal Lake.
She was born November 12, 1934 in Minden, West Virginia to Roy King and Rachel Blethen.
Formerly of Chicago and Villa Park, Jean lived in Crystal Lake for the past two years. She was a homemaker and very involved in raising her family. She loved music, and enjoyed singing in the church choir.
Survivors include her children, Ronald (Nancy) Thomas of Crystal Lake, Carol (Charles) Dickerson of McHenry, Charles (Elaine) Thomas of Hanover Park, Linda (the late Donald) Vance of Chicago, Patricia Thomas of Villa Park, James (Patty) Thomas of Chicago, Donald (Donna) Thomas of McHenry; 22 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren; a sister, Mageline (Harold) Adams; two brothers, Roy B. (Ann) King and Harold (Barbara) King; and two brothers-in-law, Harold Dobbins and Homer Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James R. Thomas in 1975; and three sisters, Betty Dobbins, Dolores (the late Othel) Sharp and Peggy Thomas.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the funeral service at 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2009, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry.
Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Chicago.
Memorials are suggested by her family to Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion.
