Jeannette P. “Jean” Willen, age 80, of Round Lake Park, died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at her home.
She was born June 18, 1933 in Highland Park to Joseph and Evelyn (Coleman) Pokorny. On November 6, 1954 she married Paul Willen.
Jean was a resident of Round Lake Park for the past 54 years. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Jean was a homemaker whose greatest joy was caring for her family. In addition to her family, Jean also took care of the Round Lake Fire Department and she loved to care for her “grand Dogs”. Jean especially enjoyed the companionship of her grand dog/best friend, Haley.
Survivors include three children, Paula (Steve) Witzke of Round Lake, Glenn (Stephenie) Willen of Grayslake, and Paul Jr. (Lisa) Willen of Grayslake; seven grandchildren, Chris (Taryn) Willen, Katie (Jamie) Hogue, Kellie Lewis, Sarah Witzke, Amanda Witzke, Austin Cloe, and Lauren Cloe; and a sister, Evelyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Willen Sr.; and her brother, Robert Pokorny.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following on Monday, March 17, 2014, at Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Court, Round Lake, IL 60073. The Rev. Lisle Kauffman officiating.
