Joan M. Donahue, age 78, of Round Lake Beach, died Saturday, March 10, at her home.
She was born December 7, 1928 in Chicago to John and Margaret (Goyke) Hofer.
Formerly of Chicago, she moved to Round Lake Beach in 1961, where she had resided for the past 46 years.
Prior to retirement, she was employed as a secretary at All State Insurance in Mundelein. She was a den mother for Cub Scouts while her sons were growing up. She enjoyed doing craft work, and attending craft shows with her husband, where she could show off her latest work. She also enjoyed visiting her favorite casino, Potawatomi. Most of all, she enjoyed being a doting grandmother. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Round Lake.
She is survived by four children, Kathleen (Mark) Fowler of Phoenix, AZ, Thomas (Christine) Donahue of Richmond, IL, John Donahue of Vernon Hills, and Timothy (Karen) Donahue of Lake Villa; a daughter-in-law, Angela Donahue of Jupiter, FL; 11 grandchildren and a great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William T. “Bill” Donahue on October 28, 2003; and a son, Christopher, on January 17, 2007.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at St. Ignatius Episcopal Church, 500 E. Depot Street, Antioch.
Inurnment will be private.
