John D. Mulllin, age 62, of Round Lake Beach, died Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
He was born July 16, 1949 in Port Smith, VA to James and Doris (Strader) Mullin. On April 12, 1969, he married Linda L. Elwert at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Lake.
John was a resident of Round Lake Beach for the past 45 years. A bricklayer by profession, he owned and operated SMS Masonry Inc. for 26 years, and later owned and operated Moonlight Construction for two years.
A doting grandfather, his family was always most important to him. John enjoyed boating on his pontoon boat, and spending time in Wisconsin Dells. A bird watcher, he was a member of the International Crane Society in Baraboo, WI. John was very fond of Disney World, and enjoyed many visits there.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; two daughters, Sheri (Charles) Buijk of Ingleside and Jennifer (Jeffrey) Rapp of Capron; four grandchildren, Connor, Katie, Devin, and Dylan; and a brother, Patrick Mullin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Kathy.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Court, Round Lake, IL 60073. The funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Avon Centre Cemetery, Grayslake.
