John T. Perron, age 71, of Crystal Lake, died Monday, November 24, 2008, at Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry.
Formerly of Fond du lac, Wisconsin, John was a resident of Crystal Lake since 1968.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict.
While living in the Fond du lac area, he was a volunteer fireman for the Eden, Wisconsin Fire Department. John was well known by family and friends as “Railroad John”. He enjoyed a 47 year career with the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad and later with the Union Pacific Railroad. Enjoyments included collecting antique trucks and tractors.
Survivors include five children, Denise (Randy) Jones of Madrid, New Mexico, John L. Perron of Lake In The Hills; Thomas Perron of Chetek, Wisconsin, Paul (Ritsuko) Perron of Seoul, South Korea, and Michael (Judith) Perron of Harvard, IL; three grandchildren, Russell Gillette, Tyler and Zachary Perron; a brother, Jerome (Beatrice) Perron of Harlingen, TX; two sisters, Helen (James) O’Brien of Eden, WI, and Emma Jane (Arthur) Ambroso of Fond du lac; and 20 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, John Henry Perron. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2008, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Eden, Wisconsin.
