John V. Bohac, age 82, of Wonder Lake died Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at his home in Wonder Lake.
He was born March 5, 1926 in Helena, Montana to Charles and Zoe (Hannum) Bohac. On January 6, 1951 he married Margaret A. Kolak in Chicago.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. serving during WWII as a B-17 gunner in Europe.
He had been a resident of Wonder Lake since 1972. John was employed as a serviceman for Sears Roebuck, he was later employed as a dispatcher for Palumbo Bros. Excavating. He then became the proprietor, operator of the Wonder Lake Marina which he sold in 2002.
John was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church where he had served as an usher.
He is survived by nine children, Christine (Charles) Marke of Wonder Lake, John (Ruth) Bohac of Dahlonega, Georgia, Jeanne (Bruce) Berglund of LaGrange, Kenneth (Janice) Bohac of Mahomet, Diane (Daniel) Brenner of Ringwood, Donna (Robert) Riedl of Wonder Lake, William (Christine) Bohac of Wonder Lake, Thomas (Valerie) Bohac of Lake Zurich, Barbara (Michael) Dicker of Wonder Lake; 18 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Janet Kowalski; and a brother, Charles (Sophie) Bohac; two sisters-in-law, Rosemary Tertell of LaGrange, Patricia Offerman of Crystal Lake; and dear friend, Peg West.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Margaret on March 17, 2002; and his parents.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Justen’s Wonder Lake Funeral Home, 7611 Hancock Drive, Wonder Lake, IL. 60097.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2008, at Christ The King Church, 5006 E. Wonder Lake Road, Wonder Lake, IL.
Interment will be in Christ The King Cemetery, Wonder Lake.
