Joseph E. Heil, age 79, of Round Lake Beach passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at his home.
He was born February 27, 1926 to Edward and Kathryn (Lenon) Heil. On January 4, 1949 he married Genevieve C. Casper who preceded him in death on May 16, 2003.
Formerly of Chicago’s north side, Joseph moved to Round Lake Beach in 1989. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII.
A truck driver for Boyle-Midway the majority of his career, he was a teamster in Local 710 for 40 years. After retiring, he worked at Menards in Gurnee. His hobby was building model trains, he also enjoyed watching boxing, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the comfort of companionship from his faithful canine Shilo.
Survivors include six children, Christine Buckner of Chicago, Debbie (Joseph) Sinopoli of Walnut, CA., Mary (Jim) Russ of Round Lake Beach, Michael (Terri) Heil of Chicago, Joe Heil of Joliet, Ed (Laura) Heil of Round Lake Beach; a daughter-in-law, Dolores Heil of Monkena; 16 grandchildren; three great grandchildren;
He was preceded in death by his wife Genevieve; his parents; and a sister, Patricia Sewall.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Ct., Round Lake, IL 60073.
The funeral service will be at 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, at the funeral home. The Rev. Chris Fox will officiate.
