Flat River/Park Hills- Judith “Judy” Kay (Bone) Martell, 65, was united with the Lord November 23, 2013, in McHenry, Illinois. She was born April 8, 1948, in Bonne Terre, Mo., the child of Opal Berniece (Compton) Bone and Howard Leo Bone. Before moving to be near her daughter and family in 2007, she resided in Park Hills.
She was a proud Bulldog cheerleader at Leadwood High School and her friends say she was the best volleyball player Leadwood High School ever had. Family, animals, music and good, country home cooking were Judy’s loves. One of her favorite places to eat was Cracker Barrel. She especially loved the country store they have as it reminded her of memories back home. She enjoyed the companionship of her precious cat, Gabriel and her pug, Emily. Judy was intelligent, funny, intuitive and strong. She had a magnetic personality. You could tell her anything and she was always there to listen. She was a loving mother, grandmother and best friend.
Judy was preceded in death by her mother and father. Survived by her sister, Vicki Jean (Bone) Scism of Farmington, Mo.; daughter, Kelli Kristen Barger of IL.; son, Charles Wayne Barger of Johnsburg, IL.; three grandchildren, Kristen Linnea Lord of IL., MaKayna Barger and Kamden Barger of Johsnburg, IL.; and loving neice, Victoria Delacy Scism of Farmington, Mo.
